Happy Friday and welcome back to our third Weekly dose of HR Tech Simplified. This has been a busy week for HR Tech with multiple new product and fundraising announcements along with bizarre but useful developments in the field of Generative AI.
Now, let’s get to it.
As organizations are tracking the multiple challenges of skills development and talent retention, internal talent marketplaces and learning technology have become the most important HR Tech functionalities.
LinkedIn Learning, which was focused on content till now, is launching a series of products to become a true enterprise learning platform. According to Josh Bersin, LinkedIn Learning is launching a Talent Marketplace for internal mobility, Role Guides to offer role based learning pathways, and assessment based certifications. With its massive content library and sister offering in Microsoft Viva, LinkedIn Learning’s evolved platform can emerge as a strong competitor to Skills Tech vendors.
Another key development in the Skills Tech space is with Eightfold AI. It has launched Eightfold Intelligent Experience which makes the experience of assessing skills, designing career pathways, measuring candidate fit, identifying skills gaps, etc. intuitive, seamless and fun.
From Bing to Sydney
This last week has seen a large range of emotions from people in their reaction to Generative AI, especially to Microsoft’s Bing Chat. Bing Chat code named Sydney internally has given some hilarious to bizarre responses. Some of these raise questions about its role and sentience. M&A and Fundraising news
Kanarys, Inc., a diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) technology company focused on providing the tools organizations need to create long-term systemic change around DEIB challenges, announces it has raised US$5M in its Series A financing round led by Seyen Capital.
Rezolve.ai, a modern employee service desk platform, has closed around US$11 million in Series A — led by the SIG Venture Capital with participation from Exfinity Venture Partners and follow-on investments from existing investors 9Unicorns and Tri Valley Ventures.
“Our name reflects our vision — we don’t want people to track tickets. We want to resolve their support needs — instantly and automatically without human support intervention,” added Udaya Bhaskar Reddy, CTO and co-founder. “We have done this by creating a deep employee service stack that combines advanced NLU, an AI-powered knowledge management layer, thousands of tasks, processes, and troubleshooting ‘skills’ that can work together to fully automate more than half of Level 1 support.”
